Higher Level Teaching Assistant

Twydall Primary School (Rainham Mark Education Trust) is looking to appoint a HTLA (Level 4 or commitment to work towards) to join our team of dedicated teaching staff.   We are looking for a positive thinker with the right skills and with a passion for developing their practice to support the vision of Twydall Primary School.

The successful applicants will:-

  • Have high expectations of pupil achievement and behaviour for learning.
  • Be enthusiastic team players who are willing to share ideas and expertise.
  • Assist in providing and maintaining a stimulating classroom environment that promotes children’s learning.
  • Have good interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and engage pupils through a patient, warm but assertive approach.
  • Be able to deliver high quality intervention when required.
  • Supervise lessons during teachers PPA time – non core subjects
  • Supervise lessons in teacher’s absence across the school
  • Have a level 4 qualification in supporting teaching and learning or working towards


This post is term time for 38 weeks per year + 5 staff development days for 32.5 hours per week)

Salary: Medway NJC C2 (£21,589 - £28,785 full-time equivalent).  Actual Salary: £16,311 - £21,747)
