COVID and Self Isolation Update
Dear Parents and Carers,
As I am sure you are aware, there have been changes to the COVID guidance and protocols over the Summer Holidays.
Please see the information below regarding the new advice for schools and self isolation:
The government has removed the requirement to wear face coverings in law but expects and recommends that they are worn in enclosed and crowded spaces where you may come into contact with people you don’t normally meet.
As drop off and pick up times can be busy, please do wear a face covering if you would like to or stand at a distance from other parents and carers if possible.
If there is a positive COVID case in school, children and young people aged under 18 years 6 months who usually attend school, and have been identified as a close contact, should continue to attend school as normal.
If a pupil or staff tests positive for COVID via PCR, identified close contacts from the NHS Test and Trace Service should be advised to get a PCR test. It is a legal requirement for anyone who tests positive via a PCR test to isolate for 10 days.
Household or close contacts are not required to self-isolate if they are;
• fully vaccinated
• are below the age of 18 years and 6 months
• have taken part in or are currently part of an approved COVID-19 vaccine trial
• are not able to get vaccinated for medical reasons
Those not meeting the criteria will have to isolate for 10 days if contacted by the NHS Test and Trace Service.
- It is recommended that you take a PCR test if someone in your household tests positive.
